Juggernaut
Juggernaut is a mobile and web AFL tipping platform built around a “last man standing” mechanic, where users play cards each round to place their tips. I worked on the project end-to-end — from early research and wireframing to UI design, developer handoff, and marketing support.
My Role
UX and UI design from concept to delivery
Created wireframes, prototypes, and user flows in Figma
Developed and maintained a responsive design system
Conducted user testing and iteration rounds
Collaborated closely with developers for seamless implementation
Created marketing and supporting materials for launch
Process
Discovery & Research
I started by working to define the platform goals and identify user pain points. We focused on simplifying the tipping journey and increasing engagement. Through competitor analysis and informal user interviews, we built out an understanding of expectations from casual and competitive fans.
Wireframing & User Flows
I mapped out core journeys like sign-up, card selection, round overview, and tipping submission. Using Figma, I created wireframes to validate flow and layout direction. These formed the basis for internal feedback and early iteration.
UI Design & Interaction
The UI was designed with a mobile-first mindset, using clear hierarchy, bold visuals, and card-based interaction. I created high-fidelity mockups and prototypes in Figma, focusing on accessibility, responsive layout, and readability.
Design System
I built a modular design system including UI components, tokens, spacing, and typography. This allowed for fast iteration, easier dev handoff, and scalable future updates. I also created annotated design documentation to support engineering throughout the build process.
Testing & Refinement
I conducted formal user testing with internal teams and early adopters to validate interactions and information clarity. Based on feedback, I refined tipping mechanics, clarified card feedback states, and simplified secondary navigation before launch.
Early UX for Juggernaut
Demo
Discovery & Research
This clickable prototype demonstrates the early card mechanic in action. It was designed to test how users interact with the tipping cards and how intuitively they could navigate and sort through different teams. The goal was to validate the mechanic’s clarity before moving into full UI production.
Outcome & Reflection
Juggernaut successfully launched across mobile and web platforms with strong early engagement. User feedback highlighted the app’s clarity, ease of use, and responsive performance. The new design system supported scalable updates and ensured visual consistency across multiple touchpoints.
For me, this project was an opportunity to work on the full design process from end to end — from early research through to developer handoff and marketing. It pushed me to balance bold, energetic branding with clean, accessible UX, and to collaborate closely with developers to deliver a fan-first experience under tight timelines.
